Gymnast Care Is Olympic Style Care
The most important thing we learned today, is that what Gymnast Care teaches, is the same information the Olympians are learning. In every rehab course, or preventative session, core strength and landing protocol are a huge part of what they learn.
You can’t protect young gymnasts without addressing these essential aspects of being an athlete. If you think your athlete will make it through without these important tools, then you are wrong! It takes incredible hard work by the athlete and knowledge by the provider to teach your athletes how to protect themselves.
Patients We Worked With Today
Today’s major patient was a swimmer with shoulder pain. This pain has been chronic for a long time and flared up with intense training lately. Sounds an awful lot like our gymnasts trying new technique this summer!
Working with our physical therapist, we designed an exercise program to help relax the shoulder, we used soft tissue work to get the muscles relaxed, and of course, we used our special USA Olympic KT Tape to allow our athlete to move her shoulder with much more information!
My Favorite Part of Working at The Olympic Training Center
One of my most favorite aspects of working at The Olympic Training Center is the ability to work with a world class team of sports providers. At the OTC are physical therapists, MD’s, ATC’s, and chiropractors.
Everyday I’m learning so much information to bring home to our gymnasts in Washington and I can’t wait to get back to see all of our great athletes!
Let us know if there’s anything at all we can do to help you or if there’s anything you want to know about The Olympic Training Center!.
